Summer Tournament 2022 - Winner's Photo!
The Summer Tournament is the highlight of the tennis year! The tournament uses a traditional knock-out draw, with separate draws for less experienced players. These are called 'Let's Play'. Players can enter singles and/or doubles (with the partner of their choice!), and all matches are played on the day, with the finals taking place late afternoon. All winners get trophies, and runner's up get medals. Everyone else also gets a prize!

FA Cup Tennis is our second annual knock-out competition, ONLY open to players actively taking lessons at Hawker. The tournament uses an FA Cup style draw, with no seedings, and a new draw made for each new round. This is a singles only competition, with early round matches being played at weekends and after school during the Autumn term. Semi-Finals and Final are then played on Finals Day, which is a Sunday afternoon in late November. All winners get trophies, and runner's up get medals.

SUMMER TOURNAMENT 2023 - SUNDAY 2ND JULY

Date and Events - Sunday 2nd July
Our 15th annual Summer Tournament will be held on Sunday 2nd July!
All players can play 1 singles event and/or 1 doubles event each.
Players will be placed into appropriate age and ball colour events, also depending on total number of entries.
Draws and Order of Play
Tournament Info
Matches will start from 9am, the finals will start around 4pm, and there will be a prize ceremony for all winners and runners-up once the finals are completed, around 6/6.30pm.
All events (except 18U, Orange and Red) will use knock-out draws, with matches one short set to 4 (normal deuce and normal Tie-Break at 4-4). Singles Finals will be one full set to 6, with normal Tie-Break at 6-6. Red singles will be knock-out, and Red doubles a round robin. Matches will be one Tie-Break to 10 points. Orange singles and doubles will be a knock-out draw, matches will be best of 3 Tie-Breaks to 10. More info about event format once number of entries is confirmed.
All Tie-breaks must be won by 2 clear points!
Catering - Picnics Welcome!
Hawker kitchens won't be open, so there will only be basic drinks and snacks available inside, until 4pm. The weather looks like being great, so do feel free to bring your own food and drink to enjoy alongside the tennis!
Fair Play + Prize Ceremony
In the interest of fairness to all players, there must be no communication between players and parents/supporters, once players are on the court. Crowd support such as clapping and cheering are absolutely fine and very much encouraged!
Winners and runners-up are expected to be present for the prize ceremony at the end of the event.
Prizes
ALL competitors will receive a prize on the day, just for taking part! Winners will receive trophies and runners-up will receive medals.
